Library

GVM College library is fully computerized. The library has provided a single-window search system to all E-Resources such as INFLIBNET (N-List), DELNET and World-E-Book Library on college website i.e. www.gvmgc.in. Library subscribes to a large number of electronic journals and books through these databases. The library is using Libsys version 10 integrated Library Management software. This is one of the latest software used by cloud- based latest technology that enables the library to serve its users more efficiently. OPAC, Web OPAC , and Mobile App are the main tools to provide access to the library collection with the help of login ID and Password.
OPAC/Web OPAC, Mobile app can access through any terminal on the campus network and library collection can also be search through college website. The Bar code technology is used for circulation of documents. Well stacked shelves are enriched with more than 38,511 books of standard and quality. The library has subscribed to 20 newspapers, 110 magazines and research journals as well as social and personal development of students, faculty and staff.
It has two reading hall with seating accomodation of 200 readers, more than 1000 students visit to the library daily.More than 300 books are issued and returned everyday. Library has Book –Bank section. The library provides a full set of books to needy and meritorios students .The library has an open access system. The library has an Advisory Committee to support the functioning of the library. The new books are procured by the suggesstions and recommendation of the faculty members. The books from vendors on approval available in the library from time to time. The user education programmes, orientation programmes are organised from time to time.
Library is a member of DELNET (Developing Library network), N-List of Inflibnet(Information and library network centre) and World E-Book Library.The members of the library can access its databases 19,496 fulltext E-journals 43,23,607 E-books and other resources from these consortium. These E-resources can boast of having the capability of being the rich source of study material for students and staff.
