Founded by Shri Sanatan Dharm Sabha in 1987, Gita Vidya Mandir Girls College (GVMGC) has emerged as one of the premier institutes of Haryana, imparting value based education to near about 2000 girls. It has carved a niche for itself in the State for its sincere, committed, all out efforts to produce confident, competent, responsible and responsive young girls who are firmly grounded to their cultural and traditional roots.

It has been accredited twice with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC, an autonomous body of
UGC. It has also been conferred with the honour of “Potential for Excellence” by
UGC for 10 years. We not only educate our students but also inculcate a system
of core-values into them to help them keep their fundamental principles intact and
provide them knowledge and power to sail through life.

GVMGC upholds its mission to ‘Educate, Empower, Emancipate Eves of Today’ in the realization of its vision of escalating the process of empowerment through higher and vocational education to girls, adding value to their lives. The college offers a plethora of courses- U.G. – B.A., B.A.(Geo. Hons.), B.Com.(Pass), B.Com.(Voc.), B.Com.(Hons.), B.Sc.(Med., Non-Med., Comp. Sc., Home Sc., Bio-tech), B.B.A., B.C.A., P.G. – M.A.(Eng.), M.A.(Hindi), M.Com., M.A./M.Sc.(Maths), M.Sc.(Phy.), M.Sc.(Chem.), M.A.(Geography). Organization of and participation in seminars, workshops, feedback from students, alumni and academic experts, provide the right impetus and direction for enriching the curriculum.

Additional skill oriented programmes provided to students help them keep pace with the changing global trends and requirements. Sincere efforts have been made by the institution to modify and enrich the curriculum to make it cater to the dynamic, employable market. Teaching is made student-centric and individualized to identify the slow learners and advanced learners. The college promotes research culture among faculty and students. A number of research related activities are conducted during each session.

The extension programmes taken up by NSS, NCC, Rangers, YRC, Women Cell, Rotract Club orient the girls to indulge in community service. A plethora of opportunities are provided to the students to excel not only in academics but in cultural and extra-curricular activities. The college also has been a consistent winner of overall trophy in Youth Festival for thirteen consecutive times. The college has been declared the best college of University in Cultural Activities many times.

NEP implemented in the college since the session 2024-25 is encouraging the students to explore a range of subjects and giving them a flexible learning experience.

Sports, a source of fun and vigour, is a hallmark of our institution. Our students bring crowning glories in sports achievements. They represent the college at Zonal, Inter Zonal, State level, University level and National level. Many scholarships and stipends have been instituted to encourage these students.

The institution has made several innovations which not only help to smooth out the functioning of the institution but also give it a cutting edge above the rest of the institutions. The college has been successful in harnessing Solar Energy by using a range of ever-evolving technology in Solar Panels. The Solar panels installed in the institution produce around 128 KW energy. The effort has been recognized and appreciated by the State Govt. and the institution has been honoured twice with Solar Energy Award by Haryana Government and a National Award by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Govt. of India, Ministry of Power, New Delhi. The process of Rain Harvesting system has been done at different places within the premises of the institution.

Waste Management Cell of the college takes appropriate action to reduce the environmental impact of waste by minimalizing environmental pollution and carbon-emission.

Women Empowerment through education, skill development, environmental awareness and inculcation of humane qualities in students have always helped the institute in ascending the ladder of success and glory.
